I'll be honest, I'm not totally sure how to explain this game - I'll need to write a proper introduction to it soon enough, but it's a game about exploring the world as you and your fellow Heroes try to complete their Quest.

It's got:

  • 16 classes, each with about 18-20 unique skills.
  • 12 species, though there's way more if you count each variety of Maeflai.
  • Character personality systems, options for backstories, special powers for when you're in danger, and lots of other cool stuff that I don't know how to explain!

I would LOVE if you guys could just spend a little bit of time to build characters and look over the documents, sending me the finished characters (if you want!) as well as giving me whatever feedback you have - from spelling mistakes, poor formatting, ideas for Skills and Passives, whatever you think works as "feedback!" (Please just don't be needlessly mean <3)

Hey!  This is the guy from Tumblr (the Indy TTRPGs group).  So, I read what you have so far, and overall I did like it!  The lore is super interesting and was very fun to read.  This alternate future sounds pretty rad!

I do have a few notes:

  • Why does the currency (G) not stand for anything?  I think specifying the currency could be a great chance for worldbuilding.
  • I have trouble imagining what a battle might look like.  You talk about things that will take place in it and tools that help you in it, but there's no real example to model how a battle should go.  Also, who are the enemies?  How strong are they?
  • Can only people on Earth use magic?  Or can off-worlders like the narrator of the Lore use magic on Earth?
  • The Weapon Tinkering doc confused me.  Why list them by class if you can mix & match weapons to different classes?  Listing them by weapon type would be simpler.
  • Levelling is odd to me.  Why not increase SP in increments?  If I was a player, I can see myself being frustrated that I can't do more with my SP as I level up.

I think the concept is very promising & fun, it just needs more development & ironing out.

That's all I got now!  Lmk if you have any questions!

Hey! thanks for the feedback!

  • Honestly, G doesn't stand for anything mostly because I think it's funny. Gold isn't a particularly valuable metal, being soft and rather weak, and G is actually a totally unique material. I'll likely elaborate further on this later on.
  • This isn't really a question I've ever considered! I'll likely include more information on this with the rules in version 0.0.3, but I'm not totally sure how to properly explain it, other than just saying that it's, like, a battle? I'm not quite sure how to best answer this question, so if you could elaborate on it some, that would be lovely to see!
    • The enemies are usually Monsters - I could have sworn that I explained them in the lore document, but I may have skipped over it. Monsters are creatures made out of a form of "corrupt" or traumatized magic, called ku'ai
    • Strength honestly varies, though the usual theme is that they'd be a little weaker than Heroes, and most threatening in groups or if you're just a civilian. (This is still more like balancing, i think...)
  • While Magic only works on the planet Earth, there's a weird line in that most ahaeth - such has the writer of the lore document - are nearly incapable of using magic. An ahaeth who uses magic is the statistical outlier.
  • Weapon Tinkering is usually assuming a weapon - like, for example, a Hunter uses a crossbow, or a Warrior uses a sword. If you want a Ninja who just uses a tomato for their weapon, go for it! (I think I stated something akin to that at the top of the document, was it not clear enough?)
  • I hope I'm not misunderstanding, but I do plan on adding the HP & SP increases to each level later on, around the same time that I specify what skills you unlock at each level. There's also going to be a number of additional items for recovering SP in the future, but they're going to be added a little later in development.

I hope that I've answered any of your questions! Let me know if there's anything else you have to ask about it!
